This project in theBrookside area involved replacing a worn out detached 2 car garage with a new 2 car garage along side an art studio. The parameters of the design for the studio/garage were the clients request to have everything on one level, the context of the neighborhood and the confines of the rear yard of the lot. Belvedere Update 8

Let's start with a view from the new driveway location. The roof sheathing is just about complete so you really can get a feel for the shape of the house now. We used a 4:12 slope on almost every roof to keep the height from going over the Lake Quivira height restrictions but also to give the house a more horizontal feel even with the towers at the drive and lake side.
