Underway! Demolition shots are fun so here are a couple more. Below is the temporary bracing to put an upset beam since that was a structural wall. After taking a short rest from the completion of a new curved stair case in the living room the clients have decided to take on a new project - the exterior deck. Demolition found some unwelcome though not entirely unexpected things. The existing structure had some significant rot throughout which we suspected might be the case. 1232 Residence Update 5

Things are moving along still over at 1232. Interior demolition is pretty much complete and one of the upset LVLs are in. In the photo to the right you can see everything has been removed except the walls around the stairs to the basment. The sloped portion will be concealed in a built-in cabinet/ fold-down desk. 1232 Residence

A quick update on this project, the floor slab is in and the brick corners are in and look great. Demolition is starting on the house, removing the bumpout at the kitchen to put in the new structural members that will span that new much larger opening.
