Should I Stay or Should I Go?

For a number of homeowners, there comes a point where they are faced with an important decision: to sell their current home and move, or renovate their existing space to fit their needs. The decision isn’t always in easy one; it entails looking at the market to see what’s available, examining the potential for a “forever” home, and seeing if a new neighborhood rivals an existing one. The Doolittles are a perfect example of this dilemma. This local couple bought their...

2019 Residence – Phase 2 – 3

Another update over at 2019. Siding and exterior trim is on and we're just waiting for paint. The interior is as well. With the fireplace gone the space opened up but now that the walls and floors are continuous it finally seems like one large space. This view is looking toward what will be a built-in entertainment center and bench. Another view of the new family room, looking toward the new door and window. Currently this leads to...

5235 Residence 3

A quick update on yet another white kitchen by RDM. Drywall is done, lighting is in. Also all the the ceiling and wall changes in the adjacent room are done and ready for paint. The first cabinets are in and you can start to get a feel for the room. Looking good. This project has long since been completed but we haven't had time to get over there and take any pictures. We should have some shortly though, but trust me...

5400 Residence

We wrapped up this project a couple months ago and construction is moving along. The existing shed addition was removed and we are adding a new shop space to the existing garage. This addition will also allow more convenient access to the existing garage attic. The project includes a new arbor that matches one added on the opposite side of the house as part of a previous RDM project. Here is the existing rear of the house. The shed...

6109 Residence Update 3

Another update on the "cathedral". The exterior shingles are done and the trim is done. Interior foam is done and the wall insulation is also done. The tabs for the new steel tie rods are ready to go. Sheetrock should be going in soon but until there is a complicated little section of roof that needs some attention. We'll have some more pictures coming up soon. Stay tuned! ...

Ward and Ward

We haven't really posted anything from this project during the process but you may have noticed the work going on if you spend much time around the Brookside area. I (Matt) actually worked for Ward & Ward off and on for quite some time so when they decided to move it was a perfect fit for RDM to be involved in the project. The building is a little brick mid-century just around the corner from their previous location. The idea...

C2 Residence Update

This project has been zooming along with the hope of finishing it in time for some holiday houseguests. Ian says he never likes to promise projects will be finished around the holidays but he seems to have done it yet again and as we get closer (these pictures are from last week, we've been busy) It looks like it is going to be possible. Windows are all in and the new drywall is in an mudded. The amount of light...
