Stair Rail

We love to work on projects of every scale here and this is a perfect example of a smaller scale project and another successful collaboration with Pascal at Meya Metalworks. The existing steel tube railings didn’t match the style of the house and didn’t meet code (also they were ugly). We came up with some preliminary design ideas and then worked with Pascal to come up with a final design and details.

The client collects classic sports cars and is very detail oriented and we wanted to come up with a design the celebrates and highlights the connections in addition to be beautifully crafted.

Custom welded steel boxes with a polished set screw give us the forgiveness that we need for irregularaties in the existing house and provide a clean and strong connection to the wall.

A mirror polished stainless steel top rail recalls the chrome roll bars of the client’s car and contrasted the dark grey powdercoated steel railing.

Another great little project. Check out the Facebook album for some more pictures. We’ll post some more detail shots in the next couple weeks once we’ve had a chance to get out there.
