New Project – Deck +

A quick intro to a new project we’ve got under construction now.

An existing and poorly constructed composite deck wasn’t large enough and didn’t fit the lifestyle of the current homeowners. (It looks a lot nicer in the photos, trust us)

Below is a pair of renderings we prepared that show pretty much where we ended up. Not only is the deck larger but a large portion of it is covered by a conventional roof and with a polycarbonate panel roof as part of an arbor. It also included an outdoor kitchen and a large outdoor storage space. A pretty cool design and should be perfect for what then need.

Demo is done and the concrete work for the storage underneath and the footings for the steel posts that support the new deck. The existing patio pavers had to be carefully removed and the footings hand dug due to the adjacent existing wall. Looks great.

Concrete is cured and the steel posts are in.

The large LVL and traditional beams are in place. The beams are large because of the upcoming large addition to the house at those windows you can just see through the framing. More pictures to come after the holiday weekend.

Stay tuned as this one moves forward, you won’t believe how cool it will be when completed.
