5002 Residence Update

If you’ve driven down Wornall into the plaza you might have seen this. The screen wall from the exterior is pretty much done and looks great.

A closer view. This was the first time we’ve worked with this material, DassoXTR, and our first impressions are good.

It is a great alternative to Ipe, though it is a little more expensive, it is actually more dense and a lot straighter. The downside is that is only comes in 6′ lengths. We alternated the corners and we think it turned out great. It is hard to see but there is a small access hatch that would allow some unfortunate person to crawl under the deck to reach the electrical and gas lines.

The screen wall is on both the interior and the exterior and provides privacy from the road below. It is lit by small LED uplights on 2′ centers.

Another shot that shows the lights in the deck and the stair riser.

One of the nicest decks we’ve done. We’ll have some finished photos shortly as well as some night images that show the lighting. Stay tuned or head down to the plaza and take a look at it from the street.
