1232 Residence Update 5

Things are moving along still over at 1232. Interior demolition is pretty much complete and one of the upset LVLs are in. In the photo to the right you can see everything has been removed except the walls around the stairs to the basment. The sloped portion will be concealed in a built-in cabinet/ fold-down desk. The walls visible to the right of the right image are temporary and existing walls that will remain in place until the second upset LVL is added. Electrical has started as has construction of the new cabinets. Exciting stuff.

With these last few pieces the new masonry is pretty much complete. To the left is the expanded stair. To the right of the little corner plant stand is existing and to the left and including the plant stand is new. It looks amazing, hard to even tell the difference. To the right is the exterior fireplace, now with stucco and brick! The corbels that will support the new mantle are difficult to see in this photo but they look great. The mantle will be made from beams salvaged from the kitchen ceiling and planed down to clean them up a bit.
